Living, learning and developing, our nature

Living, learning and developing reflects the essence of humanity in co-existence with the universe and our planet around us.

“Living, learning and developing“ form an intrinsic trilogy that reflects the essence of our human existence within the wider context of the universe and our planet.

These dynamic and continuously evolving processes are deeply intertwined with the reciprocal relationship we maintain with the universe and the unique position of our planet within this larger whole.

As an integral part of Earth’s ecology, we, humanity, are an inseparable part of its living system, with our actions and developments affecting not only ourselves but also the world around us.

Therefore, “We are”

“Living, learning and developing” is a holistic process that spans the full spectrum of human experience and growth, driven by a complex interplay of predisposition, maturation and environmental factors.

This process is not static, but a lifelong path of transformation and development in which each individual, through their unique personality, the roles they assume, and the diverse environments in which they operate, constantly acquires new knowledge, develops skills, and forms values and attitudes.

Human beings, as constantly learning and developing beings, are central to this process, navigating through life with a natural curiosity and the inherent urge to grow and transcend themselves. This journey of personal and collective evolution is characterized by a profound interaction between the individual and the world, seeing learning and developing not only as responses to external stimuli, but as fundamental components of life itself, rooted in the principles of Deep Ecology, Ecophilosophy and Ecopsychology, which remind us that we are equal partners within the ecological web of the circle of life. With that, the shadow of self-centeredness disappears behind the horizon and ecocentrism appears within our own nature and the nature around us.

Therefore, “We are essential.”

“Living, learning and developing” is an interaction that is dynamic and multidirectional, where beings in their being, their roles and environments mutually influence and shape each other, in a relationship of complete equality that is at the core of our connection to the natural world.

Therefore, “We are and essentially!”

It recognizes that learning and developing extend beyond individuals, and are deeply rooted in the social, cultural, biological and natural environments that surround us, with every action, inter-action and every development contributing to the (continued) sustainability and well-being of our planet and the communities of which we are a part.

Therefore, “An Essential Existence.”

In essence, “living, learning and developing” is a continuous reflection of the essential experiences within the larger ecological and universal system, an infinite fluid cycle of growth and development fueled by the rich diversity of life itself. It invites us to explore and realize our full potential as we consciously navigate the challenges and opportunities that cross our paths, with the essential acceptance to enrich not only ourselves as human beings, but more importantly the world in which we live, in a spirit of reciprocity and equality. Do we manage to be aware of our essential nature every day and everywhere we live, learn and develop?

Therefore, “We are, and fundamentally exist in essence!”

So, yes “living, learning and developing“ reflects the essence of humanity in co-existence with the universe and our planet around us. But where lies the answer to all our questions about real life learning? And what can education learn from the basic and fundamental principle?
